Privacy policy
This policy explains how ELWANI DentOS and its website handle data. Clinic data is stored on clinic computers. Cloud backups and external sync operate only when the clinic chooses to enable them. We do not receive patient data.
1. Patient and clinic data
- The program runs on the clinic's computers; all patient, appointment and account data is stored in a database on your computer.
- Sensitive medical data (medical history, notes, X-rays and attachments) is encrypted on the computer.
- We (the developer) never receive or store any patient data, and have no access to it.
- The clinic is responsible for its patients' data and for obtaining their consent under the applicable laws.
2. What we receive when you request activation
- The clinic name, the doctor's name, the mobile number, the plan and period requested, and the Clinic Request ID.
- The Clinic Request ID is a technical code that ties the license to the clinic's main computer; it contains no personal or patient data.
- We use this data only to issue the activation and renewals, for support, and to contact you about your subscription.
3. What the program sends over the internet
- Update checks: the program asks whether a newer version exists; it sends no patient data.
- License checks (if any): the license number and the Clinic Request ID only.
- Clinic registration and regular check-in: the first run needs the internet once to register the clinic; afterwards the program sends from time to time (when online): the clinic name, the doctor name, the mobile number, the Clinic Request ID, the subscription type and end date, the number of accounts and computers, and the version. We use it to know our customers, activate their subscriptions and support them. No patient data is ever sent.
- WhatsApp (optional): when enabled, patient messages are sent through WhatsApp/Meta according to your settings and with the patient's consent.
- Branch sync (optional): when enabled, data travels encrypted (HTTPS) to the server the clinic chooses.
4. Backups
Backups are saved encrypted with a password you choose, in the place you choose. Keep the password safe; without it the backup cannot be restored.
Google Drive (optional): After you connect your account and consent, the app uses Google OAuth and the drive.file scope to create its backup folder and manage files it creates. Backups encrypted with your chosen password are uploaded to your Google account, not to the DentOS publisher. Connection tokens are encrypted on your computer. We do not use Google data for advertising or training AI models. You can disconnect in the app or revoke access in your Google account. Disconnecting stops future uploads and does not delete existing backups; you can delete them in Drive yourself. Copies stored by Google are subject to its policies and your account storage limits. Scheduled backups require the program to be open and an internet connection.
5. The website
- The website uses no advertising cookies and no analytics that track you.
- The "request activation" form saves nothing on the website; it copies what you typed and opens our page's Messenger so you send it yourself.
- Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts.
6. Your rights
You can ask to see, correct or delete your contact details with us at any time through support.
